Gain a foundational understanding of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). This course explores key principles including image acquisition, selection criteria, reconstruction techniques and radiation dose considerations. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to apply systematic approaches to image interpretation and case selection. You'll also learn how to correlate CBCT findings with clinical presentations to support more confident diagnoses and informed treatment planning.
Learning Objectives:
Accurately describe CBCT images using standardized anatomical and pathological terminology
Understand normal and abnormal CBCT findings
Recognize CBCT artifacts, including motion artifacts, beam hardening and metal artifacts. Learn applicable strategies to mitigate their effects
Understand Radiation safety and dose optimization with minimal effect on image quality
